Debbie earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation from the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research in 2003 and the Certified Insurance Industry Professional (CIIP) designation from the International Association of Insurance Professionals. Debbie was a member, and past treasurer, of the Insurance Association of Greater Des Moines, the local affiliate of the International Association of Insurance Professionals.
Debbie has held an insurance license in 48 states. Since 2011 she was the lead principal and co-owner of Conroy Insurance Services, LLC until the company was sold in 2018 when she retired.
Robert Conroy, CPCU, CIC, has been the Executive Director of the Iowa FAIR Plan Association since January 2013. His diverse insurance experience includes roles of agent, broker, sales manager, and information technology executive. He has been published in several insurance journals and been a keynote speaker at many industry events and seminars. He is a 2025 inductee to the Iowa Insurance Hall of Fame, received both the Burkhalter Award and the Excellence Award from the Iowa CPCU Society Chapter and the Iowa Governor's Life Savers Award.
Over his long career, Bob has been a board member and past president of the Iowa CPCU Society Chapter, a board member of the Iowa Insurance Hall of Fame, a member of the Iowa Insurance Examination Review Committee, a member of the IIAI Agency Management/Technology Committee, a member of the Company Council of Executive Officers (CCEO) for the Professional Insurance Agents of America (PIAA), a board member of Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa, a member of the Iowa Arson Committee, president of the Westgate Owners Association, chairman of the Standards Committee for the Bridgewood Park Association, a principal of the Des Moines Flying Club LLC, and a member of the Des Moines Radio Amateurs Association.
In his spare time, Bob enjoys spending time with his family: wife Debbie, their five children, four grandchildren, and great granddaughter, Lucy.
