Deer Tag

Debbie and I went to St Joseph, MO yesterday to watch Allison play indoor softball at Missouri Western State University. The facility is used by the Kansas City Chiefs for their summer camp. She played well with great plays at first and a booming bat. On the way home, about 20 miles from Des Moines, we played tag with a deer on I-35. The deer is now "it" but it just lies on the road and refuses to play anymore. We are grateful that the airbags did not deploy and that the car stayed on the road.

The Kearney Krew Visits Iowa

A Visit to Kearney

A pleasant time was had by all.

2017 Goals

Bob's Goals: More time with grandkids in Kearney, NE. More contact and time with sibs. Finish the “Full Grassley”, i.e, visit all 99 counties in Iowa. Be more reflective and appreciative. Pass the general test to upgrade my amateur radio license. Continue to improve the agency and the Plan and make both independent of time and location. Gracefully exit groups and committees where I no longer have a great passion for their mission or I am doing too much of the work. Improve my work/life balance. Debbie's Goals: Work less Look for a vacation home Travel more with my hubby

National Bike Month

I wish more people would ride their bikes to work or take the bus.   Then the freeway wouldn’t be so crowded for me. Jackson and Allison just fly their B-52.

2008 Blog Archives

I found a copy of some old blogs on a hard drive. Note that the links do not work. 23Oct2008 Finally posting some pictures from the trip to Omaha with Bill, Fay, Mikki, Aimee, Debbie and me to see Katie and the kids in September The Lucinda Williams concert was a big disappointment. She made a few rambling political statements and seemed to think better of it and then only made things worse. Many people felt insulted and started to leave early and Debbie and I were among them. It ruins her music for me. I found some articles that Fay has written since moving to Germany: http://www.kaiserslauternamerican.com/article.php?i=8355 and http://www.kaiserslauternamerican.com/article.php?i=8347. She has a lot of articles and photo credits on this page: http://www.21tsc.army.mil/ My first cousin Dave O’Karma is one of those people that make the world a more interesting place by his creativity and chutzpah. 2005 July - September

July 2005 Tuesday Morning July 5. We had an enjoyable 4th of July weekend. On Friday afternoon I cleaned out the garden in the traffic circle across from our home while Debbie stayed at work. Debbie and I have officially adopted this garden. It gave me the excuse to buy a heavy duty garden wagon that was on sale at Costco. This wagon is big enough for four children and it is cleverly designed to fold up so it can be stored against a wall in less space. On Saturday Debbie, Ronna, Mikki, and Aimee got up early (funny how they can do that for shopping!) to drive to the outlet mall in Williamsburg, IA. I stayed behind to work on the “honey do” list. Here are the results: Cleaned out the traps under both sinks in the master bath (there was enough hair in Debbie’s drain to make a wig), installed a flow restrictor in the shower, installed a towel rack in the hall bath, hauled a load to our storage unit and cleaned the garage, picked up Mikki’s car keys from the dealer (with a stop at Me...
